Prerequisite:
Non-expired HCP Card. ACLS-P is available Friday before ACLS and is MANDATORY for first time ACLS Providers and individuals who do not read rhythms frequently.
Course Description: Medical providers who respond to cardiovascular emergencies in and out of the hospital enhance their treatment abilities through the American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) training. From basic life support to advanced interventions and from airway management to pharmacology and more, professionals hone their skills to save lives. Providers will enhance their skills in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This course emphasizes the:
• importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival
• integration of effective basic life support with ACLS interventions
• importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation
The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.
Participants learn:
• 1-rescuer CPR, AED • Defibrillation
• Airway management • Rhythm recognition
• IV/IO access • Use of medications
• Cardioversion • Transcutaneous pacing
• Effective resuscitation team dynamics

AHA Online ACLS course
If you cannot find a class date that does not work for you, students can take the AHA ACLS online class. After you finish the online portion, print the completion certificate and schedule a time to take the skills test at our facility. Upon successful completion of the skills test, we will issue you the AHA ACLS card immediately. Click here for more information.
