Must have BCT-IV & ACT-IV certificates and be an RN (Registered Nurse), PA (Physician's Assistant), or Doctor.

Course Description:
The Midline/PICC Insertion program is an 8-hour advanced IV course for Registered Nurses or above. This course will instruct participants on PICC line site selection, device options, insertion procedure, maintenance, and dressing. By utilizing life like upper torso practical aids and up to date techniques for site selection, proper protocol and methods designed to better anticipate potential difficulties are clearly discussed. Current devises and equipment in use today will be discussed and participants will become familiarized with equipment. The lab fee and course supplies are included. Participants must be precepted in approximately 10 procedures within 4 months before insertion certification is awarded. Participants of each portion are to arrange with the instructor, patients to be precepted. A certificate is awarded after successful completion.

Practice test and handouts are given to each participant during the program.

Bring a pen or pencil, a note pad, and a lunch (if needed).
