Course Description:
The Advanced Burn Life Support program is an 8-hour course for Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Therapists, and Paramedics. The course provides guidelines in the assessment and management of a burn patient during the first 24 hours post injury. This course is designed to provide fire fighters, EMTs, Paramedics, LPN, Nurses, Etc, with the ability to assess and stabilize patients with serious burns during the first critical hours following injury and to identify those patients requiring transfer to a burn center. Course covers medical control, scene safety, multiple casualties, initial assessment, smoke inhalation injuries, circulation, electrical injuries, and chemical injuries.
